9. Refined sugars

Refined sugars are sugars that have been refined to remove impurities and give them a finer texture. They include white granulated sugar, brown sugar, confectioners’ sugar, and various speciality sugars such as powdered sugar.

Refined sugars not only cause weight gain, but they are also a favourite meal of cancer cells! Cancer cells prefer fructose-containing carbohydrates to thrive and replicate. Fructose is one of the primary causes of cancer and can be found in almost any dessert you can think of. Cake, pie, biscuits, juice, soda, cereal, and many more common foods contain it.

With so many people addicted to sugary treats, it’s no surprise that cancer is still on the rise. It is generally recommended to restrict your intake of refined sugars and instead choose healthier sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, and fruit.
